The Australian Society of Endodontology and the New Zealand Society of Endodontics are proud to host their inaugural Trans-Tasman Endodontic Conference to be held in Hobart, the Capital city of Australia's island state of Tasmania from Thursday 20 November to Saturday 22 November 2008. This conference promises to be an excellent educational forum for delegates on current and future techniques and issues in endodontics. The social program will also offer delegates the opportunity to meet up with colleagues and friends whilst enjoying the stunning beauty and excellent local produce that Tasmania has to offer.
This conference is open to all dental professionals who have an interest in endodontics and endodontology. An innovative program with an array of national and international speakers, all leaders in their field,will ensure that delegates are exposed to the latest information and technology in endodontics. This inaugural event, not to be missed will be an important educational experience and opportunity for professional development.
The keynote speakers will be Professor Markus Haapasalo from the University of British Columbia and Professor Ove Peters from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr. Haapasalo is well known for his research in the field of endodontic medicaments, disinfection and microbiology. He is the editor-in-chief of Endodontic Topics and an associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics. He serves on the Editorial Board of the International Endodontic Journal, and as a referee for several other scientific journals. Dr. Haapasalo has spoken extensively throughout Europe, North and South America and Australia. This visit will be his second visit to Australia and his first so far south.
Dr Peters is a renowned researcher in pulp biology, root canal anatomy and endodontic clinical techniques. His specific research interests include the performance of nickel-titanium rotary root canal instruments and the biologic response to root canal treatment. He has published many peer-reviewed papers in international journals as well as several book chapters and he has lectured both nationally and internationally.
As well as impeccable research credentials both speakers are regarded as outstanding clinicians and engaging and entertaining presenters. Australian and New Zealand presenters will complement our overseas speakers in providing you with the latest in endodontic biology, materials and techniques making this meeting the Southern Hemisphere's premier endodontic meeting for 2008. Limited attendance clinics will be offered in specialized subjects which will be available on a “first come first served basis” and at a small additional cost. Accompanying this professionally stimulating program will be an extensive trade exhibition and social program.
Delegates will take with them from this conference a thorough knowledge and understanding of the latest in the principles and practice of endodontics which will equip them to face the challenges of endodontics into the next decade.
The Conference will be accredited for CPD points with the appropriate Australian and New Zealand Dental boards and is fully endorsed by the dental associations of Australia and New Zealand.
This conference will have broad appeal for all dentists with an interest in endodontic issues: general practitioners, all specialty groups and post-graduate students.
